SOUTHERN NEEDLELEAF (Tillandsia setacea)

WHAT FLORIDA NATIVE PLANT IS BLOOMING TODAY?: SOUTHERN NEEDLELEAF (Tillandsia setacea)

One of the airplants which are epiphytic (they live on other plants but do not take any food from them so they are not parasitic). This was given to me by a fellow Florida Native Plant Society member who had done some hurricane trimming of her oaks where they were hanging out.

I had a common ground dove who used it as a nest this past week. Unfortunately, something came along and ate her egg.
