MYRTLELEAF ST.JOHN’S-WORT (Hypericum myrtifolium)

WHAT FLORIDA NATIVE PLANT IS BLOOMING TODAY?: MYRTLELEAF ST.JOHN’S-WORT (Hypericum myrtifolium)

One of the many Hypericum species that grace my property, I’m pretty sure this is H. myrtifolium. It grows in the pond bed which fills during rainy season.

Note: The species from which a supplement used as a homeopathic remedy is derived is Common St. Johnswort (H. perforatum) an introduced species that is considered INVASIVE or a NOXIOUS weed in many states.
